Highlights from the report by the Chairperson

1. Inclusion of other young peoples groups under the umbrella of the DYC. The DYC has an established reputation as a young people’s leadership and administrative body. It has a proven track record of organizing retreats, spiritual and educational camps, youth led worship services and workshops on leadership, life skills, training and other activities. It is now seeking to represent other groups, namely Happening Ministries, Servers’ Guild, St Mary & St Agnes Guilds, Sunday school and other youth groups.

2. A proposal to share meetings between the DYC and the Young People’s Portfolio. The DYC meets regularly, the Young Peoples’ Portfolio as some difficulty with regular meetings and it is proposed that the two bodies meet together on the same day.

3. The DYC spiritual formation portfolio hopes to form a partnership with Happening Ministries so that in unity the spiritual life of young people in the Diocese of Johannesburg will be strengthened.
