Thusanang will initially focus on South Africa, moving into Southern Africa in the not too distant future.

Funding from USAID Civil Society Strengthening Program
Creative Associates International, Inc., known locally as CREA SA, has been contracted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement a program of grants management and technical assistance in support of the USAID Democracy and Governance Program in South Africa. CREA hereby announces the availability of an Annual Program Statement (APS) that offers an opportunity for qualified South African non- profit organizations (NPOs) to submit applications for funding to support the USAID Civil Society Strengthening Program (CSSP).
"The purpose of the APS is:"
1) to describe the USAID/South Africa Civil Society Strengthening Program (CSSP), whose objective is "Strategic CSO/ Government partnerships Strengthened for improved Policy Development and Effective Service Delivery."
2) to invite applications from South African non-profit organizations for activities that fall within the three focus areas of the CSSP, and
3) to provide guidance on the submission and evaluation of applications.
A copy of the APS can be obtained by submitting a written request to CREA via fax (012) 460-2894, via e-mail to lorraine@crea-sa.co.za, via letter to PO Box 40285, Arcadia 0007 or may be downloaded directly by going to the USAID/SA website address which is http://www.sn.apc.org/usaidsa and selecting business and procurement.
