Letters of encouragement to people engaged in the ministry of Intercessory Prayer.

First, a few words of wisdom for those visiting this web site who may not be familiar with the concept of intercessory prayer. This is taken from a short letter sent a good few years ago to members of St. Mary's Cathedral Home Intercession Group.
"Intercession really means 'to stand between',  and to be involved in intercessory prayer is more than just a recital of names. When we pray for others we enter into the whole sphere of suffering and pain by bringing before God the deepest needs of the suffering person."       "... we begin to persevere in constant prayer on behalf of those who are ill."
[The full text of the letter is available here if you would like to read it.]

People called to this ministry need to be encouraged to persevere. The pages published here are the most recent letters sent to members of the intercession group in one of the parishes in the Diocese of Johannesburg. The bi-monthly publication is appropriate for this group that prays for people with long-term needs.
