A Woman’s Creed

I believe in the light of the Holy One
who creates the world
the beauty and the love.

I believe in the nourishment of God
and in a place where all are equal
under the shelter of the Creator
where woman and man
are gifted the kin-dom of the Holy One
three in one, one in three, three in us.

I believe in the child, Jesus
child of God, child of us, child in us
born of Mary,
daughter, woman, mother
man born of woman
man born in us
love born in us.

I believe in the friend, Jesus
who opens to the minds of women
who shares deep thoughts of God with our kind.

I believe in the mentor Jesus
who understands the integrity of women
who allows insights to be revealed through us
who lets wisdom illuminate word, thought and deed.

I believe in the lover, Jesus
who gave of self
loving with warmth, tenderness and care.

I believe in the father, Jesus
who feeds, shelters and blesses.

I believe in the brother, Jesus
who laughs, protects and teaches.

I believe in the sister Jesus
who plays, shares and listens.

I believe in the mother, Jesus
who gentles women in pregnancy
who reverences birth
who nurtures, loves, feeds.

I believe in the Saviour Jesus
who is our life, our redemption, our salvation,
who makes us whole and fulfilled.

I believe in the Holy Spirit
whose soft breath moves lovingly over our world
gentling creation with loving, transformation and well-being
who enlightens the world with gilded words, passioned love and shining benedictions
for our sake and that of our fellow creatures,
till the sun no longer rises, the moon no longer shines and the planets no longer turn.
