Opening Prayer

Look upon us standing here,
Take our hearts and make them clear.
Show us how our prayers may start
From loving caring hearts.

Teach us how to thank You Lord,
And how to serve You well;
And help us listen to Your words
And in Your love to dwell.

Confession
Jesus said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself." On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets.

Let us confess our sins (firmly resolved to keep God's commandments and to live in love and peace with our neighbour).

We know and confess O Father, that our hearts are unworthy to receive you.
Day by day we have enjoyed Your gifts, but have forgotten that You gave them.
You have shown us what You wanted us to do, but we have not followed Your way.
You have spoken to us through Your wored, but we have not listened.
Please forgive us for all that we have said and done that is wrong.
This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN

Eucharistic Prayer for Children
The Lord be with you
And also with you

Lift up your hearts
We lift them up to the Lord

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
It is right to give him thanks and praise

God, our loving Father
We are glad to give you thanks and praise because you love us.

Because you love us, you gave us this great and beautiful world.

Because you love us, you sent Jesus your Son to bring us to you and to gather us around him as children of one family.

For such great love we thank you with the angels and saints as they praise you and so we sing with them

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord
God of power and might
Heaven and Earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

God our Father, we now ask you
to send your Holy Spirit to change these gifts of bread and wine
into the body and blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.

The night before he died, Jesus your Son showed us how much he loved us.

When he was at supper with his disciples he took bread and gave you thanks and praise.
Then he broke the bread, gave it to his friends and said :
"Take this, all of you, and eat it:
this is my body which will be given up for you"

When supper was ended Jesus took the cup that was filled with wine. He thanked you, gave it to his friends and said:
"Take this, all of you, and drink from it;
this is the cup of my blood,
the blood of the new and everlasting covenant.
It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven."
Then he said to them:
"Do this in remembrance of me."

And so, loving Father,
we remember that Jesus died and rose again to save the world.
He puts himself into our hands to be the sacrifice we offer you.

Lord our God
Listen to our prayer;
Send the Holy Spirit
to all of us who share in this meal.
May this Spirit bring us closer together in the family of the Church,
together with N our bishop, and all who serve your people.

Gather us all together in your kingdom.
There we shall be happy for ever
with the Virgin Mary, Mother of God.
There all the friends of Jesus our Lord
sing a song of joy.

Through him, and with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit
all glory and honour is yours, almighty Father, for ever and ever.
AMEN

Closing Prayer
Grant us Lord, a vision of our land as Your love would make it,
A land where children can grow up free from fear or want,
A land where the weak are protected, and no-one goes hungry or poor,
A land where different races and cultures live in peace and mutual respect,
A land where peace is built with justice, and where justice is guided with love.
And give us all the courage an dinspiration to build it.
This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN
