SUNDAY SCHOOL REMAINS IN CHURCH UNTIL AFTER THE LIGHTING OF THE EASTER CANDLE AND THE READING

PRIEST: Announcement of Theme

Children in our country, our city and our communities are being abused in all sectors of society, every day. We strongly condemn this evil and in today's Service, we pray for those defenseless children who suffer abuse, for their families, for those who care and administer to them and for the perpetrators of such violence. We are grateful to have with us today, Karen Bailey and Luke Lamprecht from the Teddy Bear Clinic who run Child Abuse Line. In partnership with our Sunday School,a collection for toys has been started and will run until Sunday 28th November after which we will take the toys to the Clinic where they will be distributed amongst the children at their Christmas Party.

Collect:
Heavenly Father, we pray for children in all kinds of danger: on the roads; from the stranger offering sweets; from the unseen and often unknown cruelty of men and women. Give us the courage to speak out against all that may corrupt them. Show us, with your wisdom, how to warn them without frightening them and help us to assure them of your presence with them everywhere.

The Creed

The Prayers: [Use any Form but start with the following: ]
God our Father, be near to our children growing up in the peril and confusion of these times. Guard them from the forces of evil at work in our society, and lead them in the paths of goodness and truth; and enable us as adults to give them at all times the security of our love, and the help of our example and prayers;

Through your Holy Spirit, move the hearts and minds of those who perpetrate aggression and violence against the innocent, to repentance and a new life in you;

In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
