Greetings, "Alpha is here again!"
Hi everyone, we would like to remind you about the Alpha Opening Party, which will be held on 5 April 2008 (Saturday) at Holy Cross. We gladly welcome new people who have registered to receive weekly Alpha emails. We promise you more is yet to come.
The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. Over 50 people (most of whom were young people) attended the Alpha course at Holy Cross last year in 2007. The course ran for a period of 8 weeks. Alpha course is one of the largest ministries in churches and in correctional services. It is also running in schools and in the workplace.
The course normally runs for ten weeks with a day or a weekend away. Each guest forms part of a small group where the setting is relaxed, non-threatening and confidential in order for each guest to ask any question and discuss freely the big issues issues life.
The Vision of the Alpha course- SA is to see South Africa re-evangelised and transformed through the Christian Gospel.
The Mission of the Alpha course- SA is to equip and empower communities through South Africa to run effective Alpha courses and Alpha related ministries, so that every person in South Africa has an invitation and an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a languageand contex that they understand.
The Alpha Course has inspired a lot of young people at Holy Cross parish since it was started a year ago. We are hoping that this year (2008) more young and older people will bejoin and impacted by the course. We are putting everything intoplace making the up coming ten-week Alpha course a big success.
